YouChange's Views:what is "neo-philanthropy"?

YouChange proposed in 2009 that neo-philanthropy is a set of new ideas, methods, practices and models in charity brought about by economic, technological and social development. It will lead social development trends in the future and promote sound social development. It is YouChange’s hope that by advocating and promoting neo-philanthropy charity will be more inclusive, open and integrated for more effective response to social problems. Neo-philanthropy is new cross-sector value creation rather than simply wealth redistribution.

Neo-philanthropy advocates equal attention given to spiritual and material poverty reduction, a systemic way of thinking that emphasizes man is an integral part of nature, and “passing on love and passion” and capacity building. Advocating new ideas, exploring new fields, discovering new forces, integrating new resources, experimenting new methods, adopting new technologies and cultivating new talents are seven trends of neo-philanthropy. In 2013, YouChange introduced neo-philanthropy into the field of investment and became an advocate and leader in social value investment.

YouChange's Views:what is "social innovation"?

In essence, social innovation is to discover unmet needs and unused resources, and resolve social problems in a more transparent, effective and sustainable way through reorganization and improved allocation of resources. Here, social innovation refers to practical examples in innovative settlement of social problems. It carries the basic features of neo-philanthropy—advocating new ideas, exploring new fields, discovering new forces, integrating new resources, experimenting new methods, adopting new technologies and cultivating new talents. At the same time, it should meet the 3A criteria—Aim (effective response to social needs), Approach (effective approaches and sustainable models) and Action (perseverance).
